• 2. Impro.

Yedda Chunyu Lin (aka Yedda Lin), pianist and composer

    Yedda Lin

born in Taiwan. Started to play piano at age 4. Studied and graduated chemical engineering in Taiwan and Instrumemt pedagogy (IGP classical piano) at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. (MDW) (Manon-Liu Winter)

Since 2009 started to work as free improviser, cooperated with Lukas Ligeti, Clayton Thomas, Katharina Klement, Franz Hautzinger, DD Kern, Fritz Novotny, Paul Fields, Tanja Feichtmair, Wolfgang Reisinger, Daniel Lercher … etc. Member of Reform Art Unit and 4 Statessession

Influence: Asian roots, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Cecil Tayler, John Cage, Chopin, Pierre Boulez, Philip Glass, Jazz, Film music / Soundtrack, Minimal music, Electronic beats, Drum & Bass….

Lin experiments between structures, sounds / noises, free forms, minimal / asian music…. etc. different styles. Intension is to create the aesthetic of noises and melodies, and – perhaps – a new expressionism! Like she described : “ music could be noise, could be psychedelic, could be bizarre, it’s an artwork. PEI is the keyword – Passion, Energy and Intensity! “
